Clu Gulager (1928-2022) was born William Martin Gulager. His father nicknamed him "Clu" after
a couple of clu-clu birds they had nesting at their home. He is part Cherokee Indian, related to actor, Will Rogers.
In his 90s, Clu had just been acting in movies a few years ago. His son, John Gulager, is a film director.

Clu Gulager is also known as Billy The Kid from The Tall Man (1960).

passed away at almost 94, being the second oldest living Virginian
character. He played Sheriff Mark Abbott's deputy, Emmet Ryker, who
